Tapping. (Emotional Freedom Therapy)
Tapping is a psychotheraputic tool derived from the Ancient chinese practice of Acupuncture. Tapping is the modern way of releasing negative stored energy in the meridians, a sort of up dated version of acupunture with no needles. Tapping is known as energy work. Every emotion that we experience has an energy to it. When we are experiencing a lot of negative emotion, the body is also experiencing the negative energy and this can be very disruptive for our emotional well-being. Tapping helps us realign the energy creating balance and harmony.
I love using this technique to reduce anxiety both for myself and others. I have been an EFT Practiotioner for over ten years and find it to be a simple, quick and easy no fuss tool that’s easily accessable and can be done any time. All you have to do is “notice” how you are feeling and take action. Tapping is done by by using your finger tips to tap on specific meridian points in your body. Meridian points are like pathways that allow the energy to flow and circulate all around the body and to and from the organs.Limiting beliefs and emotions like stress and anxiety create blockages in the meridian points, slowing down the blood flow around the body, making the energy stagnate. Tapping is a great way of unblocking this energy and clearing the meridians, creating more balance, flow and well being, as well as reducing cortisol and bringing a sense of calm. It’s a way of feeling more in control and used frequently, it can literally retrain the brain from day to day habitual negative reaction to awakened positive reaction.
Tapping is used for physical pain, Phobias, PTSD, depression, OCD, panic attacks, weight loss. There isn’t anything that I have come across where I wouldn’t use it. It can be done alongside an EFT practitioner or on your own.
Here are the tapping points for the short cut version and the anatomical connections.
